Thank you to our Art teacher, Mrs. Charmaine Griffiths Adderley, for her work with our students in Art class. Below are some examples of their work in a variety of styles.
The Persistence of Memory, also known as Melting Clocks, is one of artist Salvator Dali's most famous works. Below, our students created their own Melting Clocks.
The first three collages below are examples of elongated animals, also in the style of Salvador Dalí.
Yayoi Kusama is a contemporary well known Japanese artist famous for her polka dot patterns. Under Mrs. Adderley's direction, our students created the polka dot pumpkin collages below.
Classes 4-205 and 4-208 created Native American shelters in honor of Native American Heritage Month. Students' projects included a variety of shelters, such as teepees, wigwams and longhouses.
The Lenapes and the Algonquins lived in wigwams.
Teepees were used by the seven tribes of the Sioux, as well as by the Blackfeet, Crow, Arapaho, Plains Cree and others.
The Five Nations of the Iroquois Confederacy (Mohawk, Seneca, Cayuga, Onondaga and Oneida) lived in longhouses.

Our school community celebrated the Feast of All Saints on Wednesday, November 1, with Mass in our auditorium for Kindergarten through 8th Grade. Father Emmanuel Duku was the principal celebrant. Father James Cruz, Father Raphael Boansi and Father Collins Ashu concelebrated.
Our 4th Grade students and two 5th Grade students dressed as their saint of choice for Mass. (See the first two photos below.) Both grades researched and wrote about various saints, and presented their findings to our 3rd Grade students. Our 6th Grade students created models of saints with short biographies attached.
Below, the 6th Graders' projects about St. Cecilia, St. Rose of Lima, St. Peter, St. Angela Merici, St. Vincent de Paul, St. Martha, St. Joan of Arc, St. Catherine of Siena, and many other saints.
Students from St. Raymond High School for Boys served as buddies to our Kindergarten through 2nd Grade students who were attending Mass on Friday, October 20. This was the first time this year that our K-2 students attended Mass. The older boys helped them in and out of church, showed them how to kneel, and when to stand and sit. This partnership taught our our younger students how to act during Mass and gave the Boys' High School students community service hours. Thank you to Ms. Delgado, our Kindergarten East teacher, for arranging the pairing of the two student groups.
