FIFTH GRADE TAKES FIELD TRIP TO ALLEY POND IN QUEENS

Approximately 80 Fifth Grade students went on a field trip to Alley Pond Environmental Center (APEC) in Queens on Monday, May 21, where they learned about environmental issues, walked in the woods, and saw a variety of animals.

In the collage below left, an APEC staff member shows students a snake; in the right one, she wraps a fox skin around a student's neck while a student holding a rabbit skin looks on. Early Native Americans wore animal skins to keep warm.
