Our two First Grade classes, 1-101 and 1-103, visited The New York Botanical Garden on Friday, April 27. Students in both classes attended a hands-on workshop on pollination in the Everett Children’s Garden. They learned the life cycle of a bean and parts of a flower, and also took apart a flower to identify its parts. Then they planted a bean, which they were allowed to take home in its pot.
Our aspiring botanists from Class 1-103, left, and 1-101, right, learning about plants in the pollination workshop.
