GRADES 4 AND 5 ITALIAN CLASSES ENJOY ANCIENT ROME WORKSHOP

Our 4th and 5th Grade students had a unique chance to see and handle authentic 3,000-year-old artifacts when Marisa Horowitz-Jaffe, founder of Museums with Marisa (www.museumswithmarisa.com), presented her Discovering Ancient Rome! workshop on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 in the school’s Main Library.

 Ms. Horowitz-Jaffe, an archaeologist and museum educator, discussed the Forum, the Colosseum and Roman temples, as well as lesser known buildings. Students learned interesting facts and trivia, and how the Ancient Roman culture still impacts our daily life and the images we see.They also had the opportunity to see and touch authentic 3,000-year-old artifacts from Ms. Horowitz-Jaffe’s personal collection. The Discovering Ancient Rome! workshop was offered as part of the school’s Italian Language Program.
