In preparation for Carnevale, which ended the day before Ash Wednesday, our Italian teacher Mrs. Casale worked with her students in Grades 3-8 to create masks like the ones worn in Venice and other Italian cities that celebrate Carnevale. Using bright color paints, feathers, glitter and jewels, students created a wide variety of interesting and intricate masks. Below are examples of our students’ work. (All photos by Josephine Casale.)
